These are Number 622 in Galloway Terra-Cotta Company catalogs from 1917 and 1920. Established in 1810, Galloway was a leading manufacturer of ornamental terra cotta throughout the nineteenth century. Founded by William Galloway, and later joined by John Graff (from 1868 to 1889, the company was known as Galloway & Graff), the iconic firm produced a wide range of decorative objects and garden ornament. His products earned awards at the 1876, 1893, and 1904 World’s fairs. The last incarnation of the company, the Galloway Terra-Cotta Company, operated from 1911 until 1941.
