A rare carved limestone spirit cooler with serpentine channels, in two parts, French, ca. 1770. 12 ins. high, 72 ins. wide, 45 ins. deep.
Used in the Cognac region of France as part of the distillery production of the famous brandy that bears its name.
Barbara says, "I can envision using these as a small rill (narrow waterway) with water once again flowing through them. Whatever your style—contemporary or traditional—if placed creatively these can be a real show stopper".
