A pair of 18th-century-style lead urns, the lobed body molded in high relief and decorated with masks and swags on a rising circular foot with egg and dart decoration, the lids with knob terminals, American, early 20th c. 30 ins. high, 16 ins. wide. On associated contemporary cast-iron pedestals with lead finish, 24.5 ins. high, 17 ins. square at top, 16.75 ins. square at base.
These urns are similar to the 18th-century urns on the balustrade at Powis Castle in Scotland. Reference: Erkins Studios Garden Furniture catalogue, New York, ca. 1950.
